Michelle Swim, Mischelle Pierce and Angelee Neilsen are scheduled to sort this week. Here's what we are expecting:
Cameo Apples
Baby Artichokes
Bananas
Broccoli Crowns
Mini Carrots
Cauliflower
Celery
Rainbow Chard
Lettuce (you'll get two heads--red, and/or green leaf, and/or romaine)
Personal Watermelons
Crimini Mushrooms
Red Onions
Pineapples
Large Russet Potatoes
Tomatoes
I know some of you will be wondering why not more fruit. Well... we are hitting the "in-between" time of growing seasons and there is a window here where fruit is really quite expensive. Once the California/Florida harvest starts in, things should be more available. Additionall, weather has been very cool lately and is slowing down the whole fruit growing process so the "in-between" window may last longer than expected. Overall, it is cheaper right now to buy most fruit (like grapes, strawberries, etc) at places like Costco.
Baby Artichokes are fun--you can eat the WHOLE THING. And I fell in love with chard last year. I'll work on posting new recipes later in the week.
See you all on Thursday!
