Orange Mint Drink

My grandmother used to make this in big batches during hot Oklahoma summers. It is a favorite in our family. So refreshing on hot days!

Boil 2 c. sugar and 2 1/2 c. water together for 10 minutes. Add 2 handfuls of mint, the juice of 6 lemons and 2 oranges. Let stand one hour, then strain the syrup through a cloth.

Fill each glass 1/3 full of syrup, then add ice and water to fill the glass. Stir and enjoy. If you're being fancy, garnish with lemon slices and a sprig of mint.
